About 15 years ago I met Faith in the Dominican Republic, where she had been invited to go, teach and share. My position was to translate from English to Spanish what Faith had to say. We travelled together from city to city.
Since my family lives in the Dominican Republic, Faith and I stayed together at my mother’s home, my brother’s home and my sister’s home. Before we departed we were invited to spend a weekend at a farmer’s house owned by Euridice Castillo; it ended up being a private sharing retreat: six of us in all; Euridice, Lilian Pepen, Helen Acra, Maria Sangiovani, Faith and myself.
Among the many beautiful and powerful things that Faith shared with us was a revelation from the Lord to her. So very peacefully she said that the Lord told her that she had this ministry until the year 1990. Someone asked, “Faith, what does this mean?” She replied, “I don’t know, it could be my time on earth, or it could be a change in ministry. Whatever, I’m safe until 1990.” I never gave it another thought neither did any of the group, however, this word of truth never left our hearts. In March of 1990 I visited the Dominican Republic and had a sharing session and one of the women reminded me of the 1990 message from the Lord when she heard that Faith was not feeling too well physically. When I returned, I wrote Faith about it. She never replied.
On September 20, 1990, Thursday, I was in Baptist Hospital where I took my sister Lydia for a test. While waiting in the lounge, I grabbed a magazine that happened to be a religious one and there was an article about life, trust and peace in God. All of a sudden, it was about 10.30am I felt a force within to call the hospital and ask about Faith, something I did almost daily when she was sick. Sallie O’Sullivan came to the phone with this message, “Faith says to please don’t call the hospital anymore, the next time to please call the family.” I told Sallie, “Please tell Faith this will be my last call to the hospital that I say good-bye and that I love her very much.”
The next day, Friday, September 21, I received a call from Dick Leavitt, Faith’s brother, that Faith made her transition at about 10pm the night before in England. My phone call reached England the day before at 4pm.
How many times Faith had said to me, “Listen and trust because what the Lord reveals it always comes to pass.”
So thank you Lord for the sacredness of your revelations which at times we do not understand, however, in your time it always comes to pass.
